“From Me to You”: for Whom, What About and What for?
In February 2020 Kherson Women Union announced the start of a new social motivating project for women “From Me to You”. A lot of Kherson folks (both men and women) got interested in the project, and there have been held first meetings with women and speakers; new ideas appeared and new options for their fulfillment since the first announcement. Abused Women’s Center: Kherson Crisis Center for Abused People to Be Open Soon
Good deeds
Remodeling of the first in the South of Ukraine Crisis for family abused women, which was opened in Kherson, has almost been finished. At the moment – furnishing of rooms and settlement of Kherson women, which need it, are being held. This and further steps of coalition “Kherson: Free Territory from Violation”, which was entered by NGO “Kherson Women Union”, are revealed in the interview with the project’s Head “Combatting Gender-Specific Violation through Creation of Crisis Center for Family Abused Women” Chairwoman of the Board of NGO “League of Socially Responsible Women” Natalia Kravets.

Unique Exhibition Opened in Kherson: Interview with the Author of Paintings

On 14 January with the assistance of Kherson Women Union there was opened a charity exhibition of the artist, drawing dreams, Svitlana Iurieva, at the Shopping and Entertainment Center “Fabrika”. You can read about her 12 unique drawings of “dreamy horoscope” and outstanding people that have inspired the author for creating her masterpieces in our interview with the artist.

Doctor’s portrait: Iurii Herman — about everyday routine and problems of contemporary obstetrics and possible job cut
Iurii Herman is a Medical Doctor of the highest category, Deputy Chief Physician for Obstetrics-Gynecology Help at Kherson Oblast Clinical Hospital; a truly outstanding doctor and scientist that has a track record of numerous current implementations into Kherson medicine. Though, pretty soon his post is planned to be made redundant, or be optimized if to be precise. We spoke to Iurii Herman about the kind of threat it is posing to the hospital and obstetrics in general.

Dance-acrobatic show “The Snow Queen”: don't be afraid to give warmth
Assistant to the Chairman of Kherson Women Union Yuliia Mainer smiles at everyone in the lobby of the Palace of Youth and Students; Union managers Alina Mazurenko, Olena Seredenko and Liuba Ivashchenko welcome people and conduct them to their seats in the hall. Everything is harmonious and welcoming - we are waiting for the main New Year's premiere of the year - dance-acrobatic show “The Snow Queen”.

“I am Saint Nicholas!” project helps meet new friends
Over three years of implementation of the social project “I am Saint Nicholas!”, its members have grown and started to dream more globally. 17 December 2019, Kherson Women Union has organized a large-scale meeting of participants of the social project “I am Saint Nicholas!”. 204 children, who have already participated in the project in the previous years, gathered at the residence of Saint Nicholas in the III line of “Fabrika” Shopping and Leisure Center.

The project “I am Saint Nicholas!”, which has been implemented in Kherson Oblast by Kherson Women Union for three years in a row, for the first time visited the old friends of the Union – Kherson Special Boarding School for Hard of Hearing Children. Prayer’s Day for the Orphans: they are dreaming about their families
There are 802 orphaned children who have never felt parental warmth, as they have an orphan’s heavy fate. More than 2,000 are social orphans, who having the own parents, haven’t had the happiness to grow up in a family. For the sake of all of them, on Prayer’s Day for the Orphans, Kherson community united in the prayer.

“I – Saint Nickolas”: the first visit to “Kalynivka”
The distance of 140 km has been gone: 11 volunteers of Kherson Women Union have driven up to Kalynivska Specialized Comprehensive Boarding School. On 6 November 2019, for the first time in three years, we came to help children write their letters to Saint Nicholas.

Coming soon! Return of the kindest action of the year - “I – Saint Nicholas-2019”
Kherson Women Union has been implementing the social project “I-Saint Nicholas” for two years. During this time, we have presented a fairy tale to more than 500 children from Kherson Oblast. Art-project about breast cancer: to snap out of the torpor and not to be afraid!
She had been working in the Clinic “Fürth” (Germany), in the department that specialized in breast cancer treatment for 12 years. She has German medical education and diploma, German citizenship, and a big Ukrainian soul. Mainly soul pulled her to Kherson not only to change the old medical system, but also the attitude of Kherson folks towards oncological patients. We have taken interview from this unique woman. Please, get acquainted with Natalia Tsvyhun, coworker of the Medical Center “Taurt Medical”, that has opened a unique installation in Kherson State University, having started Pink October in Kherson with it.

The Summit of Peace took place in Kyiv on 9 September 2019. It was dedicated to the Fifth Anniversary of the World Summit of Peace WARP. The event was aimed at making the appeal to the citizens and the state to take an active part in the establishment of wholeness and peace in Ukraine and the world.

On 21 September, on the International Day of Peace, Kherson Women Union founded the initiative to congratulate oblast community with video message, in which the representatives of the active publicity, people of different age and professions, recite a poem about the importance of Peace around the world.

Schoolbags are packed! Boarders of KMCO “Center Sophia” met Knowledge Day with confidence!
4 years in a row Kherson Women Union has been activating all concerned Kherson folks, partners of the Union and friends to get ready school kits for pupils that are in need. Thus, we have managed to present confidence from the very beginning of schooling year to the family-type orphanage “Radist” (Joy), the Rehabilitation Center of Children with Invalidity in Kakhovka and KMCO “Center Sophia”.

Flashmob of Feminity and KWU: united by peace-making mission
On 27 August the Flashmob of Feminity that was organized in Kherson by Oksana Ferman, club “Psychology of the Third Millennium” and the educational project “”School of Life”, joined together the active women of Kherson in a great peace circle dance. The participants of the flashmob reminded the society about the necessity of harmony, tolerance and peace on the Earth. The partner of the event became Kherson Women Union, paying special attention to the women’s role in peace-making.

The priceless, colorful and elegant Ukrainian Language – to every Kherson folk
Tomorrow, on 11 August at 3.00 p.m. the 12th lesson of the Ukrainian Language is going to be held at II queue of the mall “Fabrika”. This educational initiative, which was started by Kherson Women Union, has given every Kherson folk a possibility to advance his/her level of the state language proficiency in the interesting and accessible way. The only thing to do is to attend lesson and start learning. We have spoken to the teacher of these lessons – Lilia Vizhichanina – about the peculiarities of the lessons and “traps and pitfalls” of Kherson speaking environment.

To Hear Mother’s Voice!
“Mind your health as it has the highest value!” the elder people say… And for mother her child’s health is the greatest wealth! One of natural blessings, characteristic feature, due to which we percept information completely and in a variety of ways, is sense of hearing. It is one of the most important organs of human senses. When your child is growing healthy, you are looking forward to her chattering of the first words; but imagine mother’s anxiety, as they go forward and daughter, vice versa, becomes quieter and quieter… It is a great stroke. The child just cannot percept, hear the world around, reproduce and cooperate, as a healthy person.

Feeling with and supporting: KWU in the Child Guidance and Family Counseling Center
This year birthday of the Chief Oblast Union’s member – Iryna Nikolayeva – started with a good tradition to get together active and willful women of Kherson and Kherson Oblast for “Charity morning”. The charitable aim of this festive morning was more than deep – to raise funds for needs of Kherson Child Guidance and Family Counseling Center.
