За мир, добробут та щасливе майбутнє наших дітей!

This is the way it is – unforgettable and vibrant – Children’s Day with KWU!

Children’s Day with Kherson Women Union is traditionally held especially fairylike and in grand style. The equestrian center Grand Prix, that so amiably played host for children from all the regions of Kherson and Kherson Oblast, experienced such a great wave of children’s laughter, non-stop joy and sincere amazement for the second time.

Fancy that! More than 3000 children and around 60 educational and boarding institutions of the whole region, organized groups from Office of Children’s Services of Kherson Oblast State Administration, Kherson Oblast Center of Social Service for Family, Youth and Children gathered on June 1st, 2018 in one place to share the joy of children’s holiday, and what is no less important, to get acknowledged with children’s rights again.

“Be vibrant, relax and enjoy this day!” addressed the present the Head of KWU Iryna Nikolaieva.

We all are from Childhood. Sometimes, it’s a great pity that it will never come back again”, emphasized the founder of Charity Fund Ievhen Ryshchuk.

At the same time all locations were in full swing: sport games and relays, creative master-classes, fitness lessons, exercises on creative development, face painting and lots more. Everything that could arise children’s interest was before their eyes.

“I adore box. I really want to box like those elder children”, jealously referred Andriyko from the Center of Social and Psychological Children Rehabilitation from Stepanivka towards sport area.

“It seems to me that shape is the most important for a girl. Not completely… but still important. That is why I spend all my time at gymnastics. I will learn here and will continue doing it before TV at home. I am with my brother here, but he likes football mostly”, said Anya from Kherson.

It was especially noisy at one remote location. It turned out that children learnt janga play on the drums. They set pace to each other, composed melodies and the whole band of newly minted musicians, supporting the soloist, added an unbelievable sound to the melody.

“What is the most important in music? Hold! Mainly the hold creates rhythm and gives the possibility to feel music. Listen to your heart, keep your hands strong and you’ll do it! Do you happen to know that drummers have very strong hands? Hence, you’ll learn here to play and will become really strong!” encouraged the Head of the location, practicing psychologist, Gestalt practitioner Hanna Kolesnychenko.

Little further, small skillful hands were making labels and fridge magnets at a big table.

“I have done such kind of magnet for the first time. Will put it onto the fridge at home. Will be a fillip to the memory!” said Artem from Skadovsk Region.

“I was here last year, and, truthfully speaking, there’s nothing new for me”, said Maksym from Kherson. “But I found new friends here. And it is cool! I wonder whether we meet here next year”.

There was a bright red-haired boy among the crowd of noisy children, who attracted a special attention. On question, who he was, he said:

“Generally speaking, I am an animator Iustymchyk, and my name is Kolia. I will be myself here, Iustymchyk, will tell children about their rights. As this holiday is not just a relaxation, but a holiday of children’s rights!”

And rightly so, pretty soon, this Iustymchyk helped children to learn their rights: right to life, to happiness, to health, to education and even right to eat ice-cream. He did it from the festive stage together with the partners of the event from the Principal Territorial Administration of Justice in Kherson Oblast.

And there was plenty of ice cream this year: adults and youngsters recollected cold sweet taste of happy childhood in a wafer baked cup. All this happened due to our partners TM “Rud” (“Zhytomyr Butter Plant”) and “Limo” (“Lviv Cold Storage Plant”).

To make Ukraine clean together was suggested by Iuliia Tyshchenko from location “Let’s do it, Ukraine”. How to sort trash; bottles in which it is risky to drink anything, and those that could be used for the second time; why it is of high importance to change paper cups in all cafes of Kherson – here everyone could find answers to all these questions. It was especially pleasant, that this issue attracted adults’ attention, as this location received proposals for further cooperation right off the bat.

Close to water location attracted with its comfort and coloration. Children, sitting on cushions and wearing colorful attributes, demonstrated new methods of alternative education that are being introduced by educational project “Shkola Zhyttia” (Life School) to the observers.

“We thank to Kherson Women Union for the possibility to out ourselves at this holiday. Our organizations are alike with our potential: both KWU and we are active, creative Mothers, who, actually, are forces for progress in a modern world”, said Olena Kukharchuk, one of the founders of Shkola Zhyttia.

“It is so pleasant to see my colleagues from “Krok za krokom” (“Step by Step”) and children from sponsored institutions. All are in the mood. There is a special atmosphere here that strikes our fancy”, shared Inessa Sambros, that visited the event together with her son.

The long-waited concert of Svitlana Tarabarova was met by children and adults with unbelievable rise in applause. The star has already become a fixture for the majority of the event participants, and came for celebration together with her relatives. She constantly shared interesting stories from her life, socialized with the audience and of course sang so well. She was that good that nobody could resist temptation and burst out dancing!
