Representatives of authorities, public organizations, creative Youth and journalists gathered in Cafe-Theater of Regional Academic Music and Drama Theater named after Mykola Kulish on Aptril 18th to witness a ceremonial event – awarding of representatives of socially oriented charity, patronship and volunteering.

This year 36 applications from Kherson Oblast were filed to the Organizing Committee of National Competition “Charitable Ukraine”. The jury chose 4 winners and 8 laureates on the regional stage. Who are they, this charity providers?

Within the measures of the Competition “Kherson Charitable – 2017” that was organized by CO “Fund of Kherson Public Society “Zakhyst” that is the representative of National Competition “Charitable Ukraine” in Kherson Oblast, the best and the most active organizations got certificates from the organizers and the dreamt ceramic statue of “Good Angel”. Kherson Women Union is among them!

In nomination of “Civil Charity” the winner is the Deputy of Oblast Council Iurii Rozhkov that was able to engage 2 million uah into charitable activity in 2017. The second place was given to the volunteer, Head of Georgian Cultural Union “Ilori”, Eliko Markelia. The third medal place was given to the author of photo exhibitions commemorated to Sunny Kids, a regionally well-known photo artist Oleksandr Andriushchenko.

The winner in nomination of “Regional Charity” is CO “Kherson Women Union”, the team of which was able to unite more than 350 volunteers and sponsors for the fulfillment of social project “I am St. Nickolas”; to organize on charitable purpose a family festival of health and beauty “Charity Fest” and festival of Ukrainian charm “Ivana Kupala”. The second place of honor was given to Didur Women’s Educational Center (Head – Iuliia Didur). The third was given to the biggest Shopping and Recreation Center “Fabrika”.

There were no equals to Halyna Umanets, the Coordinator of Kherson Center of Help to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in nomination of “Charity in Social Sphere”. The winner of the second place was CO Kherson Regional Organization of Supporting Children with Down Syndrome and their families “Kherson Sunny Kids”, the third place was given to CO “Personality Development Center “Beregynia”.

A special consideration was given to the creative Youth. A students’ team of the 2nd year of studies of “Culture and Arts” Department of Kherson State University got the victory in nomination of “Youth’s Charity”. The second place was given to the club “Leader” of Kherson Center of Out-of-School Work of Kherson City Council, the third was given to Kalanchak Comprehensive School of I-III levels #1 of Kalanchak Rural Council of Kherson Oblast.

A special honor of the Organizing Committee of National Competition “Charitable Ukraine – 2017” was given to “Voice of Ukraine Wales” for philanthropic development of British Wales for the sake of helping to those in need of Ukraine, that has been taking care of needy layers of Kherson Region systematically.
